Nick J. LoRusso, born July 23, 1946 in Newark, New Jersey, passed away at the age of 67 as the result of a heart attack on December 7, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda, his son Daniel and his wife Kerrie, his son Joseph and his wife Caitlin, his sisters Millie (husband Mike), Anne (husband Bill), Joan, his brother John (partner Mary Ann), and his friends and family in both the United States, Ireland, and all over the world. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Adele LoRusso. Nick was a cherished husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, godfather, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Nick’s outgoing and kind-hearted personality enriched the lives of so many, not only through his work as a certified financial planner, tax preparer, and property manager, but also through the time he donated to the Fort Collins Soccer Club, Colorado Youth Soccer and other various organizations throughout Colorado.

Nick was known for being absolutely devoted to his family, and it was clear to anyone who knew him that the pride and love he felt for his sons, wife, and family was immeasurable. We will miss Nick dearly and will never forget his uncanny ability to find the one person in the room from his home state of New Jersey, no matter how far from there he found himself. The lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him will never be the same without him; he will forever be in our thoughts, memories, and prayers.

In honor of Nick, and to continue his legacy, Daniel, Joseph, and Linda will play an active part in the selection and development of scholarship recipients. With the goal of providing for team fees, travel expenses and gear, Nick’s Fund is heavily committed to the success of young athletes. As “Nick’s Guys,” the LoRusso family will be an active presence in Colorado youth soccer.
