ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
The Nick J. LoRusso Memorial Fund began one weekend in December 2013 with the passing of Nick LoRusso. Nick had that unique lovely quality of being a people person. Everyone was his friend. His love for his family obvious, and commitment to help anyone drove him.
The choice to begin helping children play soccer was easy. We were a soccer family, for a few generations. Helping children play with rides, chaperoning our son’s teams, or even contributing financially to help their teammates was something not foreign to us as a family. The decision to continue that practice and honor Nick was easy.
Our fund provides financial assistance to Colorado players, clubs, and referees of all ages. We believe that everyone should have access to the great sport of soccer and financial burden should never stop a player from achieving their best.
Through the years we’ve paid for club fees, jerseys, referee training, tournament fees and travel expenses and much more. Every dollar received goes to a worthy recipient who not only enjoys the game of soccer but strives for excellence in school and provides services to their community.
The Nick J. LoRusso Memorial Fund was formed in December, 2013.
